Is your view of Feng Shui correct ?

Most people think of it as a tool for well-being. It has been “sold” to us that way. But is it really about well-being?

What do the words Feng Shui literally mean.

Feng means “wind” and Shui means “water.” Energy is carried by the wind along the mountains and eventually flows toward the water. Water captures this energy and transports it. It is this energy that affects us, bringing either success or, conversely, problems.

For reference, decoration is not part of the energies that influence our environment to the point of changing our lives. Feng Shui also does not correspond to what you often read in popular magazines.

First of all, how many types are there?

The most well-known is Western Feng Shui. Then there is the one beginning to be recognized as Traditional Feng Shui. And finally, Yang Gong Feng Shui which is not yet very well known but is the most powerful of them all.

For some, it’s a business

You will find some people who openly say that Feng Shui is a way to make money. They sell all kinds of books on traditional Feng Shui or so-called “Western” Feng Shui, as well as Feng Shui items such as wind chimes and other objects. Some call themselves Masters, others experts in the field, but in reality they only practice Western Feng Shui. Their priority is business. They show no real care for their clients, often conducting quick visits, with or without a Luo Pan.

Fortunately, for some, this does not prevent them from being good at what they do.

For others, it’s about well-being

They take advantage of the trend. These people focus on arranging spaces with decoration, Home Staging, and personal feelings. They want to place beautiful furniture in harmony with the colors of your living room. They should take great care of you.

And finally, for others, it’s a way to help people

These practitioners may not necessarily focus on well-being. They do what they can to genuinely help their clients. They take the time to explain things and pay close attention to your needs, without necessarily talking about well-being.

Do all these people really practice this millennia-old art?

It depends on how they work. All of them will tell you that they work with energies. Feng Shui is indeed part of the study of energies, so everyone claims to practice Feng Shui. But what is it exactly?

It is a millennia-old art that allows the reading of how energies manifest in people’s lives. This place can be a house, an apartment, a business, or a workplace. The energies depend mainly on your external environment and, to a lesser extent, your interior.

The study of this ancient art, which can only be properly practiced using a Luo Pan, explains the life of the people in that space. Therefore, anyone who is unable to explain what is happening inside your home, office, or business is not truly practicing Feng Shui.

It does not matter if the person is focused on business, well-being, or genuinely helping you—they can only be considered a good practitioner if they can explain what is happening in your space. They must be able to provide insights based on these measurements. If they cannot, then that person is not practicing Feng Shui.
