Ba Zi, sometimes referred to as Chinese Astrology or the Four Pillars, is an analytical system based on the date and time of birth. The year, month, day, and hour form the four pillars, each consisting of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. These combinations reveal the underlying dynamics of a life, including its strengths, challenges, and cycles. Unlike Western astrology, Ba Zi does not rely on the stars. Instead, it is based on the Five Elements—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—and their interactions. These elements provide insight into many areas of life, including health, family and professional relationships, and career choices.
