Traditional Feng Shui : a comprehensive reading of the space

Traditional Feng Shui is not limited to aesthetics or interior design. It is a science of balance that connects people, space, and time. My role is to observe and measure what truly influences your life: the shapes of the landscape, the energy flows around the space, the internal layout, and how these forces evolve over time.

The Four Measurement Systems

To obtain a reliable diagnosis, I use four complementary approaches: Ba Zhai, San He, San Yuan and Yang Gong.

Ba Zhai

The person in the house (favorable sectors and directions according to the date of birth).

San He

The immediate environment (mountains, roads, water, landscape features).

San Yuan

The time factor (flying stars, periods, annual and monthly cycles).

Yang Gong

Reading the overall environment and natural forms (mountains, rivers, valleys) to assess the energetic quality of a site.

Ba Zhai - The person at the heart of the place

Based on your date of birth, a Gua number is calculated, which determines eight types of Qi: four supportive directions and four to avoid. In practical terms, this helps assign the right rooms to the right people and precisely position a bed, desk, or dining area. Colors and objects are secondary; the most important factors are the sectors, directions, and intended use of each room.

San He - The environment that supports (or hinders) you

Roads, rivers, hills, buildings, and bodies of water—the exterior has the greatest impact on the outcome. I take on-site measurements using the Luo Pan to assess the actual directions: flow orientation, positions of protections (the “Four Animals”), presence of aggressive angles, and the quality of any water source. Good land or well-aligned access can significantly enhance the potential of a home or business premises.

San Yuan - Time and flying stars

San Yuan describes how the energy of a place evolves over time. By combining the date of moving in with the orientation of the door, we can create a Flying Star chart, which indicates which rooms are suitable for specific uses (bedroom, study, living room, etc.) and what precautions to take during certain periods (renovations, travel, or other changes). It acts as a temporal compass, helping us avoid acting “against the tide.”

Yang Gong - The source of traditional Feng Shui

Yang Gong Feng Shui is the foundation of all traditional schools. Inherited from the great Master Yang Yun Song (Tang dynasty), it is based on careful observation of natural forces: mountains, valleys, rivers, wind directions, and soil quality. This method seeks to understand how Qi flows across a site on a large scale, long before construction or habitation. It is used to select a promising, balanced location capable of sustainably nourishing the vitality and prosperity of its inhabitants. Yang Gong Feng Shui offers a comprehensive reading of the landscape—revealing the energetic potential of a place even before it becomes a living space.

Why Combine Yang Gong, San He, San Yuan, and Ba Zhai ?

Because Feng Shui is a whole : place, time, and person interact constantly. A bed perfectly oriented according to Ba Zhai will not yield good results if the external environment (San He or Yang Gong) disrupts the flow of Qi, or if temporal cycles (San Yuan) temporarily weaken the relevant sector. By combining these four measurement systems, I can achieve a coherent and accurate understanding of the location:

• Door orientation and energy flow,

• Optimal positioning of living spaces,

• Balance between natural, human and temporal energies,

• Choice of auspicious dates for important actions

This comprehensive approach guarantees recommendations tailored to your environment, your pace and you way of life.

Each study begin with an overall analysis of the site and its natural environment: relief, roads, water, neighboring buildings. This is followed by on-site measurements using the Luo Pan, and then a study of the buildings internal layout and the personal orientation of its occupants. We will discuss your specific needs : comfort, health, relationships, success.

Depending on the results, I can also suggest favorables dates for your building work, removals or structural changes.

The ultimate goal :  to bring your place in harmony with yourself, your environment … and the times.
