Feng Shui Temporal Afflictions for the New Year 2017

We all know that in traditional Feng Shui, time is an important factor. The New Year inevitably brings changes. In traditional Feng Shui, we use two different calendars: the solar calendar and the lunar calendar. Depending on which one is used, the negative effects will begin on different dates.

Changes Taking Place on the Night of February 3–4

There are also negative energies, such as Tai Sui, Sui Po, and the 5 Yellow, which change location or direction every year. For 2017: Tai Sui, corresponding to the yearly branch 酉 (You), will be located in the West, between 262.5° and 277.5°. Sui Po, the opposite branch 卯 (Mao), will be located in the East, between 82.5° and 97.5°.

In these directions, you must not perform any construction, renovations, or face these directions (pay attention to desk or bed orientation…). If your front door faces one of these directions, you must avoid any work or renovation in the entire house. The 5 Yellow is an annual star that moves each year. In 2017, the 5 Yellow will be located in the South.

To weaken its negative effect, metal should be placed in its sector. Metal elements include: salt cures, wind chimes, music (as sound is considered metal), or metal objects.

Changes That Will Occur on January 28

It is the lunar calendar that also triggers the effects of San Sha. San Sha, also called the “Three Killings,” as the name suggests, is a harmful energy. You must not disturb the ground, renovate, move furniture, or construct in the affected sectors—whether on land, inside a room, or in a house. The risks are multiple: minor illness, financial loss, injury, or disaster. In 2017, the Three Killings will be located in the East, between Yin (寅) and Chen (辰), corresponding to 52.5° to 127.5°.

With all this information, all that remains is for you to be careful.

Feng Shui can bring a lot of positive energy as well as just as much negative energy; therefore, it is up to you to pay attention.
