Feng Shui for Businesses: It’s Not That Simple

Many students ask how to apply Feng Shui to a business. Everyone says, “It’s the same as for a house.” Yes… and then what?! Well, the head of the family becomes the manager or owner, and the bedroom becomes the office. Yes… and then what?! It’s true that it’s a bit more complicated.

Some Examples to Better Understand Business Feng Shui

A shop

Let’s take the example of a business, such as a tattoo studio where I consulted. The front door is located in a favorable sector, Fu Wei, an energy that brings well-being, which is good. In addition, the door has a good orientation, Tian Yi, which benefits health, social, and professional promotion, which is even better. Yet, money isn’t coming in—how can this be? The manager enters a favorable sector, but during Period 7 (1984–2004), which is no longer favorable for us in 2015, after several years. From the temporal aspect (Flying Stars), having good stars on the door is essential. With a Period 7 grid and a Southeast 2 (巽 S-E2) direction, the manager has a 5 star on the facade (misfortune, legal troubles, disasters, bankruptcy) in the main room, and in the direction—what we commonly call the star on the door. A period change was made, and with this direction, he now has an 8 star on the facade of the front door. Additionally, I have him enter through another door on the same facade, which is aligned with his Sheng Qi, the energy of success and prosperity. In this case, just like for a private home, it is important that the front door is placed in a favorable sector, with a good orientation and positive Flying Stars both on the door and in the direction.

A Chinese Restaurant near my home.

Of course, the restaurant’s front door should be located in a favorable sector for the manager. I was not able to verify this. From the temporal aspect (Flying Stars), it is also essential to have good stars on the door. I took the measurement and can confirm that the main room of the restaurant has an 8 star on the facade, which is an excellent star for the current period. By “chance,” they have placed a water basin right in front of the main entrance, in the main room. The basin is about 6 to 7 m² with 20–30 cm of water at the bottom. They positioned it precisely where the 8 star on the facade is located.

Water being an activator, this large amount of water continuously activates the 8 star, which brings wealth and social prosperity. The restaurant is always full. For private homes, we might activate a favorable sector or star with a fish tank of 200–300 liters, which we already consider significant. However, in some businesses, it is possible to place a much larger amount of water, which can have much stronger effects on revenue.

A Hairdresser Friend

Finally, an example of a hairdresser friend who was facing financial difficulties and a lack of clients. She was entering through a bad sector and with a poorly oriented door. After the Feng Shui consultation, she entered through the same door as her clients, which provided a good direction and a favorable door placement. Thanks to Serge, a Feng Shui expert, I followed his advice and told her to place her products for sale—shampoos, hair color, etc.—in one of her favorable sectors, her Sheng Qi.

Serge mentioned this during one of his certification presentations. The effect on product sales was rapid and dramatic—sales exploded. Always place the products you want to sell in one of the manager’s good sectors. The cash register should also be placed in a favorable sector with positive Flying Stars, oriented toward a good direction and a beneficial star on the facade. These are a few examples to follow when intervening in a shop, office, or business. The magazine Challenges published an article on this topic.
