Feng Shui : The salt cure

Everyone has heard of the salt cure in traditional Feng Shui.

But what is it, and what is it used for ?

In Feng Shui, we use the salt cure in Xuan Kong, or Flying Stars Feng Shui. To make a salt cure, you need to put 2 to 3 kg of salt in a container—coarse or fine, whichever you prefer. Fill the container with water, about 1 cm above the salt. Place five yellow coins and one white coin on the salt and let it sit. Add water regularly to maintain the level. The chemical reaction between the metals in the coins, the water, and the salt produces metal energy. Therefore, the salt cure is considered a metal remedy. In the Five Elements cycle, Earth nourishes Metal, so Metal weakens Earth. The purpose of the salt cure is to weaken negative Earth energy. When there is a negative Earth star—such as Star 2 or Star 5 during Period 8 (our current period)—we want to reduce its effects. Star 5 is considered the most harmful, and Star 2, when negative, is called the illness star. Using the salt cure, the Metal energy will weaken the Earth energy. The harmful effects will still be present but will be mitigated. Of course, it is important to know where to place the salt cure. If we only consider the annual stars, for example, in 2014, the annual Star 5 was in the Northwest, so the salt cure should have been placed there. In 2015, it should have been placed in the West, using the same salt cure. Currently, in 2021, you should place your salt cure in the Southeast of your home.
