In Traditional Feng Shui, Time Is an Important Variable

In Traditional Feng Shui, Time Is an Important Variable.

In traditional Feng Shui, we use either the solar calendar or the lunar calendar, depending on what we wish to work with.

The Solar Calendar in Feng Shui

Using the solar calendar, we can calculate the Ming Gua for each person. That is why, when calculating the Ming Gua, we check whether a person was born before or after February 4th (sometimes February 5th). The exact date depends on the year: for 2016, it was February 4th, and for 2013, it was February 5th. There are also negative energies, such as Tai Sui, Sui Po, and the 5 Yellow Star, which can change their location or direction around February 4th or 5th.

For the year 2016, Tai Sui, corresponding to the Shen branch (申), was in the Southwest, specifically SW3 between 232.5° and 247.5°. Sui Po, the opposite branch Yin (寅), was in the Northeast, specifically NE3 between 52.5° and 67.5°.

In these directions: No construction or renovations should be done. You should not face these directions (this applies to the orientation of beds, desks, doors, etc.) If your main entrance faces one of these directions, you should avoid doing any construction in the entire house

The 5 Yellow Star is an annual star that moves each year. In 2016, it was located in the Northeast. To weaken its negative effect, you should place metal elements in that sector. Metal elements include: Salt cures, chimes or musical instruments (sound is considered a metal element in Feng Shui) or metal objects.

The Lunar Calendar in Feng Shui

The Chinese New Year will be on February 8th according to the lunar calendar. It is also the lunar calendar that determines the effects of the San Sha. The San Sha, also called the Three Killings, as the name suggests, is a dangerous energy. One should not disturb the earth, renovate, move furniture, or build in the affected sectors. This applies whether it is on a plot of land, in a room, or in a house. The risks associated with the San Sha are multiple: Minor illness, Financial loss, Injuries, Disasters … For this year, the Three Killings will be located between Si (巳) and Wei (未), which corresponds to the South, specifically between 142.5° and 217.5°.

With all this information, you just need to be careful.

Feng Shui can bring many positive energies, but also many negative energies. It is up to you to pay attention and act wisely.
